Weekend Update

I'm only posting this for Graham, my most devote fan.

I went to Minneapolis this weekend for my friend Matt's PhD graduation. Kevin and Paul threw a Quinceara themed party on Saturday. Friday, we taste tested the margarita recipe we had, and we all ended up passed out in various states across the house by midnight. Apparently the margaritas were a success. Saturday was the real deal - the Quince. We decorated the place in the worst Mexican decor we could find on Oriental Trading Company's Web site. Think five feet plastic mariachi cut-outs, margarita glasses with cactii for the base, that stuff you see strung to the ceiling at every Mexican restaurant...it was awesome. Unfortunately I forgot my camera.

We played homemade Match Game, and I had the roll of Zsa Zsa Gabor. My best answers were: "Sculpted Ice D!ldo" and "Pee on your seat-mates face a la R Kelly." You can decide what the sentences were that these fit into. I use the ! because I would rather not have people finding my page looking for the actual word on Google.

Sunday I saw Alycia, for the first time in almost a year. I was pretty exhausted, so we just sat around and talked in Kevin's kitchen. I could barely stay awake the rest of the day after that. Good thing I was headed home. I had reached my party/social limit. Regardless, it was a great time. I'm super proud of Matt and wish him luck in his future amazing job.

Yesterday I boxed books all day in a professor's office. She is donating a ton of stuff to my job, so I had to go through it. Apparently she was really into second wave feminism. I found an original copy of Our Bodies, Our Selves. When I say original I mean one of the first 5,000 printed, looks like a zine. Just has some staples holding it together and was done on a typewriter. It was so amazing! I gave it back to her, as our library isn't the right place for such a find. My ethics kicked in! I'm looking forward to going back this week and digging through more of her 60s and 70s feminism stuff. There was lots of Adrienne Rich there too...pretty cool.

After work I went to Target and the Grocery store to get tons of crap I needed. Then I went to bed. I'm still tired from this weekend, but I got asked to go to the Sox game tonight. They are playing the Yankees and I can't turn that down!

Tomorrow is Lost. I'm making dinner for Nate too, so that'll be busy. Then Thursday is my birthday! I'd like a night off soon...perhaps Friday.
