Standard Update
My three day weekend won't be as fun as I wanted. I am sick. I took a nap Sunday afternoon, and awoke to the typical sore throat that is the beginning of the end for me. So expect me to have a cold for the next week and be sleepy. I guess this is what happens when you are busy, its cold out, and you haven't been sleeping as much. Thankfully I have some bitchin' menthol cough drop things that have some mega-serious vapor action workin' my sinuses.
Friday I went to Nick's house with JP and Nate. Nick made some amazing fondue, and we watched Thank You for Smoking. When the movie was over my only reaction was "that was cute." It was a good movie, it was cute, but it didn't do much for me.
Saturday I got BBQ at Honey 1 BBQ with Nate. This place is only a few blocks from my house, and is reportedly one of the best BBQ places in Chicago. We both really liked it. It was messy, there were three big dudes chowing down and yelling at the football game, and it was really bare bones for decor. In essence, it was exactly what you want out of a BBQ joint. Then I made him watch one of my favorite movies, Even Dwarves Started Small. It had been awhile since I had seen it, and I enjoyed watching Hombre laugh for 90 straight minutes. I was able to synthesize/process Herzog's theme/point of the movie a little more this time.
Sunday was french toast at brunch, three episodes of Battlestar, Chinese for dinner, and three episodes of Arrested Development, with some sickness mixed in.
I was having a conversation about lists people make, specifically lists of stuff done in a month, in a year, etc. Like "I read these books in 2006." Maybe I should come up with some lists for 2007. I'd want it to be something non-typical, but I can't think of it. Maybe like "I ate x pounds of potatoes in 2007" or "I baby-talked my dog y times."
