I actually have a life lately
My blog suffers when I'm busy. My brain suffers a bit too, as the business prevents me from thinking endlessly about random crap that goes swirling through my brain at all hours. Being occupied is good for me, bad for blog. I win! You lose!
My weekend was really busy. Friday night my friends' bands played, Mt. St. Helens and Driftless Pony Club, at the Metro. Everyone was really excited to see them play the Metro, and they both did an incredible job. After the show, Peter Hook of New Order DJed downstairs in Smart Bar. I only danced a little, but Hook was a good DJ (despite him playing a few New Order tunes which I thought was pretty dorky). Nearly all of my friends attending this event, including a work friend of mine, so I had a great time.
Saturday I watched the Resurrection trilogy with Nate (Battlestar dorkiness), baked him a birthday cake, then went to his birthday dinner with 6 other people. I was nervous the cake would suck, but it turned out fine. I guess it's hard to screw up something from a box. Then we all went to Club Foot and met up with a bunch of other friends for drinks. Most people were sort of brain dead from the night before, but by the end of the night things picked up. I saw some people I hadn't seen in a month (Mr. Stanger) and goofed off with them.
Today I made breakfast burritos, watched Freaks and Geeks and two more episodes of Battlestar. Then I took a massive nap. It sounds like I wasn't very busy all weekend but I was around people for all but a few hours each day.
I'd like to get something accomplished today. Maybe read more of Kavalier and Clay? I don't know.
The first week of 2007 has been so awesome. I feel like it will be pretty sweet for awhile.
