Audrey loves Bernadette

Time for another dog update that bores the hell out of everyone except fellow dog owners!

There is a puppy a few houses away from me named Bernadette. It is going to be a giant St Bernard someday. Bernadette is the only dog in the neighborhood Audrey likes. Audrey likes Bernadette so much that whenever we see her, Audrey drags me to wherever Bernie is. (sidenote: I love how they both have old lady names and pink collars) The two dogs love to romp around, which is amazing because Audrey is generally very aggressive and scary when she is on her leash.

So this morning I was talking to Bernie's owner (at 7 am in my reindeer flannel pajamas), and she mentioned how she loves that Audrey jumps up and down in the window whenever Bernie walks by. Apparently Audrey is pretty famous on the block for jumping in the window, as other owners have talked to me about this too. I thought everyone hated it, but they all think its cute. It ain't so cute when you are trying to watch a movie and she starts freaking out though. Regardless, I love seeing Audrey interact positively with other dogs.

Audrey's new walker, Andrew, came yesterday and said she was ultra adorable and nice. He followed all the directions and left me a detailed note. I love him already. The only minor irritation is that they company wants Audrey to be in her crate when they come get her. This means in the morning I have to find her and crate her. She's pretty crafty about hiding, so I have to shut the bedroom door in case she wants to run under the bed. Today she ran through an empty bookcase shelf behind the couch. Andrew lets her run free after he drops her off, which is how she prefers it. I'm going to work on a "go to your crate" command with her, although this command has failed in the past when I tried to teach it to her.

Dog update over

Today was perhaps the first morning since Bush got re-elected that I impulsively shouted "Oh Fuck You" to the tv screen, as a result of cops showing their support to the 'Danziger 7' as they turned themselves in. Made me vomit my peanut butter toast a bit. "Heroes" my ass.
