A wedding
I got a second rate wedding invite a few weeks ago. A friend from college is getting married, and sent me a myspace message (seriously) inviting me to his wedding, way after the real invites went out. Tons of my friends will be there, and I had wanted to go anyway, so I took no offense at this and said sure. I did end up getting the real invite in the mail last week. I used this second rate invite as an excuse to buy a new fancy dress (Michael Kors oooh!):
I went to Macy's here. Last week Marshall Field's turned into Macy's and some people were really pissed off about it, arguing that Marshall Field's is a part of the Chicago heritage. Me? Meh, I don't care and have no attachment to Chicago. Plus those Frango chocolates that will forever remind me of my deceased grandma are still there. The interior was the exact same, the only difference was I left with a Macy's bag and not a Marshall Field's bag.
Tomorrow I'll go to Target for some cheapo heels and something off the dude's gift registry. This is getting to be a pretty expensive second rate invite! I could just wear one of my old dresses, but in truth I only have one and its too summery for this time of year. I justify this price by saying I need these things in my wardrobe (nice dress, heels). We'll see if I actually end up wearing them ever again.

I know haha! Maybe some of his fake tan/bronzer will rub off on me so I'll look a little orange in it.
