Lots of shows
I got invited to see Band of Horses last night for free at the Metro. I only knew a little about them, and it will probably stay that way. Everyone I was there with was bored out of their minds. The opening act was also a true one man band. Guitar in hand, vocals in uhh...throat, and drums at feet. That aspect didn't stop me from wanting to shake his throat a bit so he'd stop the whiney falsetto that's so pervasive and so annoying right now. It makes me want to punch faces.
So instead of watching the bands we got drunk in the basement at SmartBar. Bad idea? Feels like it today. Fun? Yes. Therefore, I'll call it a draw. But I really do have to stop these out until 2 weeknight excursions. Unfortunately my logic also tells me to go out at any chance because living alone can make me a hermit. Its not a good sign when I can have a conversation easier with my dog than with a human.
This weekend is the Hideout Block Party / Touch and Go 25th Anniversary. It's outdoors and is supposed to rain, so it may literally be a washout. I'll be there come hell or high water (these weather puns need to stop).
Then next week is Pan Sonic and some other stuff I know I'm forgetting about. Too many shows! I need to figure out where I packed my ear plugs.
