lists
Friday night my friend Rick said something that I thought was really funny. Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" was playing at the bar, and he said it was "music for people who hate music." Another example, I believe, was Outkast's "Hey Ya." It's not a literal hate, but more of a they just don't know any better. Its basically snobdom. This concept made a lot of sense to me, and on the way to work today I thought about other "[blank] for people who hate [blank]" ideas. I came up with mostly books:
Books for people who hate reading: The Davinci Code, Tuesdays with Morrie
Movies for people who hate film: Independence Day, King Kong, nearly any blockbuster - too easy.
Other categories I wanted to fill in were clothes and foods.
Any ideas? The more I think of it the more it seems any current popular item would fit, but I feel like there's more nuance to it somewhere...like the song has to be mega-popular but at the same time sort of 'out there' - not your typical Justin Timberlake or 50 Cent song.

I think I would almost say the opposite: If you can't appreciate "Hey Ya," then you probably can't appreciate music. (The Gnarls record as a whole is quite good, though I think "Smiley Faces" is superior to "Crazy.")
I guess I'm a populist.
I was hoping this would bring you out of the commenting closet.
"B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)" has always been my personal "Hey Ya"/"Crazy". I love that damn song.
...but that has nothing to do with lists. i'll try to think of a good one. i had an idea for one about elected officials for people who secretly hate the internet, but that whole ted stevens-based "the internet is a series of tubes" joke is getting old.
hahaha that sounds like a great idea, and that joke never gets old!
janooly u a hater for this one
